Information You Choose to Send
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When a visitor enters a name, place, or other term in a search tool, the query passes to the third-party provider that operates the search service. Prentiss County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider receives the query so it can return the requested results, and that provider's privacy terms govern its handling of the information.
Messages Sent to the Site
An email or contact-form submission may include the sender's name, reply address, and anything written in the message. Those details are retained as needed to read the request, respond, and maintain the related exchange. Message information is not shared beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law. The site is not a Prentiss County office, so messages should not include sensitive identifiers meant for the sheriff, jail, Mississippi Department of Corrections, or a court.
Technical Details Collected Automatically
Routine server, analytics, and service logs may record limited technical information each time a page loads. These records help deliver the requested page, measure use, spot faults, and protect normal operations. They may include:
- The internet protocol address used for the request
- The browser name and version
- The device class and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is provided
- The date and time of the visit
Cookies and Browser Controls
Cookies and similar browser storage can help show how visitors move through the site and whether features work as expected. A visitor can limit or block cookies through browser settings. Some functions may then behave differently or may not retain a preference between visits. Third-party analytics and advertising services may set or read their own cookies under their separate policies.
How the Information Is Used
Collected information is used for the operational purposes listed below. It is not used to alter records held by the Prentiss County Sheriff's Office, Prentiss County Jail, MDOC, parole or probation offices, federal or immigration agencies, or courts.
- Keep pages available, responsive, and functioning
- Send search requests to the appropriate partner service
- Understand which pages and features visitors find useful
- Detect, diagnose, and correct technical problems
- Display advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
Privacy Beyond This Website
Links may lead to Prentiss County release records, the sheriff and jail, MDOC inmate or parole information, Mississippi courts, federal or immigration custody systems, or a third-party search tool. Mississippi government records may be subject to the Mississippi Public Records Act, including Miss. Code ยง25-61-3 and related provisions, but each agency controls its own record system and website. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's privacy policy and data practices apply.
Some advertising partners may use cookies or comparable technology on their own systems to understand activity across more than one website and select targeted ads. That cross-site processing occurs through the partner's services, not through a data store controlled by Prentiss County Released Inmates. Visitors should review the privacy and opt-out choices offered by the relevant advertising provider.
Parties That May Receive Data
Prentiss County Released Inmates does not sell personal information. Limited data may still reach service providers that perform a requested or necessary function, as well as public authorities acting under valid legal process:
- Search partners that process terms entered into their tools
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic and use
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure advertisements
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security, Real Limits
Standard administrative and technical practices are used to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. Internet-connected services can never be made completely secure, however. No transmission method, server, account, or storage process can be promised as breach-proof. Visitors should use care when deciding what to send and should direct sensitive record details to the secure channel provided by the government office that holds the record.
Privacy for People Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If a parent, guardian, or other person believes that a minor submitted personal data, they may use the site's contact channel to identify the submission and request deletion. Once the request can be matched to information held by the site, reasonable steps will be taken to remove it.
Choices About Personal Information
Depending on the information held and the law that applies, a person may make the following requests. Identity or other details may be needed to locate the material and protect it from disclosure to someone else.
- Ask for a copy of personal information held by the site
- Request correction of information that is inaccurate
- Ask for deletion of personal information
- Opt out of certain forms of processing where that choice applies
Changes to This Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised when practices, services, or legal requirements change. The updated wording will be posted on this page, together with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means the revised notice governs later activity.
